Bulletin Letter – 1/24/21

Dear Parishioners,

As we continue through the pandemic, please pray that the vaccines might be effective so that many will be protected and so that we can return to operating as we are accustomed to under normal circumstances.  Please also pray for those who have been homebound due to concerns related to the virus.

You might remember that I mentioned something in an earlier bulletin about restarting our Melchizedek Project group for high-school boys open to the possibility of being called to be a priest.  Now that we are safely through the holidays, I am happy to announce that this group will once again be meeting.  The group will meet on the second Sunday of every month at noon in the Ed Center in Paulding, starting February 14.  This will allow us to have socially-distanced seating while we discuss various topics related to priesthood and discernment of that vocation.  Lunch will be provided.

Thank you for your patience regarding the Sunday collection envelopes.  We have been receiving calls from many people concerned that they have not received theirs yet.  We have been assured from the company providing them that they were shipped.  However, due to major a major backlog in the postal system, many items are arriving later than expected.  It is for this same reason that our Christmas mailer arrived well after the new year.  If you have not received them yet, then they are likely on the way.  If they still do not come in a few weeks, then please let us know.

It is not too late to join me for our parish viewing of The Search via FORMED.  The first three sessions have gone fairly well and I am encouraged by the attendance we have had up to this point.  You are certainly welcome to watch the series on your own by logging in on the formed website (no cost for you to sign up).  We will continue to gather as a virtual group at 7pm every Wednesday until we are finished with the series.  However, we will not be gathering on Ash Wednesday, which falls on Feb. 17 this year.

Congratulations to our students in Second Grade who received First Reconciliation a few weeks ago!  Thank you for your prayers for all of them as they prepared for this sacrament.  Please continue to pray for them as they now are making preparations to receive their First Communion in May.  It will be here before we know it!

May everyone have a blessed week!
