Dear parishioners,
Many thanks to everyone who donated to our special second collection at the end of February. As we announced, this collection was taken up as a donation to Catholic Charities’ efforts to provide relief for the victims of the recent earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. Thanks to your generosity, we received $1,786 in donations to this second collection. As promised, the parish matched this number from our Mission Fund, which means that Divine Mercy sent a total of $3,572 to Catholic Charities’ earthquake relief efforts. I think this is tremendous! Thank you for your ongoing support of the second collections and, in this case, your support of Catholic Charities’ important work across the world.
While I am on the topic of second collections, our 5th Sunday second collection is always for seminarians of our diocese. Our parish continues to support three seminarians: Andrew Messer, Eric Kaufman, and Kevin McGraw. Our most recent 5th Sunday collection was at the end of January. That collection brought in about $1,300. The Paulding Knights of Columbus added an additional $300 to this number. So, we were able to send each of these three seminarians $525. Thank you for generously supporting this cause! Please continue to keep Andrew, Eric, and Kevin in your prayers as they make their way through seminary.
Lastly, I would like to offer a reminder that our Days of Grace begin next week. Next Wednesday, March 22, is our day of Grace in Paulding: 8:30 – 10:00; 12:00 – 2:00; and 4:00 – 8:00. The following Wednesday, March 29, is our Day of Grace in Payne: 8:30 – 10:00; 12:00 – 2:00; and 5:00 – 8:00.
Blessings!
