Bulletin Letter – 5/12/24

May 11-12, 2024

Dear parishioners,

Be sure to mark your calendars for our upcoming events!

Our next Kingdom Builders gathering will be on Tuesday, May 21 at the Paulding church from 7:00-8:30 p.m.  As a reminder, Kingdom Builders meets every 3rd Tuesday of the month.  As I have mentioned in past articles, the group is designed to be a gathering for women of all ages and the purpose of the gatherings is simply to grow in faith together.  The gatherings begin in the church basement, and then transition up to the church for a period of adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.  Although much of the content is Catholic in nature, the gatherings are open to women of any faith background.  We had a pretty good attendance at our first gathering last month; please consider coming and bringing a friend, and growing together in faith and prayer!

The Feast of Corpus Christi will be celebrated on Sunday, June 2.  This means, of course, that we will again be doing our Corpus Christi procession immediately after the 10:30 Mass.  The procession will leave the church at the conclusion of Mass, and will return to the church for Benediction.  If you are not able to walk in the procession, you are certainly welcome to remain in the church and wait for the procession to return.  Similarly, if you would like to take part in the procession, but are not able to walk very far, you are welcome to participate by riding in your golf cart.  As we did last year, we will be serving a light lunch after the procession in the church basement.  Please join us on this great feast day on which we celebrate the tremendous gift of the Eucharist!

On Sunday, June 9, we will be celebrating the 50th anniversary Deacon Bob Nighswander’s ordination to the diaconate!  A lunch in his honor will be served at our Antwerp Center at noon.  Please come and help us thank Deacon Bob for his years of dedication to serving the people of our parish!

Next, I would like to offer a reminder to all of our current altar servers that I will be treating them to a Fort Wayne Tin Caps baseball game on Sunday, June 30; the game starts at 1:00.  The parish will buy tickets for any current altar servers and anyone in their immediate family (parents/guardians and siblings).  As in the past, our tickets will be for the Picnic Pavilion in right field.  Included with each ticket is access to the all-you-can-eat food service in the designated area of the Picnic Pavilion.  This all-you-can-eat service will be available from 12:05 until 1:35, so be sure to get to the stadium early to take full advantage of the food available!   Parents/guardians of servers, please notify the parish office at your earliest convenience as to how many tickets you would like us to reserve for your family.

A little further out on the parish calendar is our annual parish picnic, which will be taking place once again at the rectory on July 21.  Please join us for this casual event and enjoy some good food and some great fellowship with other parishioners!
