Bulletin Letter – 7/11/21

Hello everyone!

Many thanks to everyone who has approached me to offer some feedback since I made the announcement about doing some long-term planning for our parish.  Please know that I appreciate your input!  I was sincere when I mentioned in that announcement that I feel everyone should have a chance to be heard throughout this process.  Our long-term planning advisory committee has gathered once already to discuss some of the initial information that I already mentioned in my announcement at Masses, and we are still in the process of gathering more information so that we can assess all that needs to be considered and therefore discuss future planning appropriately.  At this time, we are still planning to have town hall sessions sometime in the Fall at each campus so that everyone can have a chance to express their thoughts, concerns, questions, support, etc.  More information will be coming once we compile all the pertinent data.

As you saw in last weekend’s bulletin, we will be implementing a school uniform for the students of our school starting this academic year.  I know this is a big change, but it is something I am really looking forward to.  For many reasons, I appreciated wearing uniforms all the way through 8th grade at the Catholic school at my home parish.  I am especially grateful to our school endowment fund board for agreeing to provide a couple uniform shirts and a uniform bottom for every K-6 student that will be attending Divine Mercy School this academic year.  Of course, this entails a big THANK YOU to everyone who has donated to the fund to make this possible!

Posters are up in each of churches with information for Vacation Bible School, which will be taking place July 19-22.  These posters have registration forms and items for which we are seeking donations.  Please consider having your child attend or helping if you are able!

We will resume our first Saturday Latin Masses on August 7 in the Payne church.

Blessings on the rest of your summer!
