Dear parishioners,
We have been receiving some questions at the parish office regarding various programs and events. While some groups/events/ministries will continue to be “on hold” through the COVID pandemic, the following items are the updates/reminders that I can think to provide at the moment:
Blessing of Cars– As we mentioned in last week’s bulletin, I will bless cars immediately following the Masses on July 25 and 26. To make this happen, I will pray the blessing prayer at the end of Mass and then will go through the parking lot to bless them all. Of course, that means that I will likely not be able to greet many people after Mass, so please do not think I am ignoring you! 🙂
Gospel with Father– A number of people have mentioned that they appreciated having this program on Wednesday after the morning Mass in the Paulding church basement. I am happy to continue this program, but need to get a better feel for how we are going to make that happen. I am thinking by mid-August we could start it up again. That will give me a chance to settle in first. Stay tuned for further updates.
First Saturday Latin Mass– I am happy to continue our practice of celebrating a Mass in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite (a.k.a. the Latin Mass) on the first Saturday of every month at our Payne campus. Because many people will be on vacation over the next couple months, I will plan to start this up again on Saturday, September 5. I am happy to train any boys who want to learn how to serve the Mass.
Wednesday Adoration– Just a reminder that, as we have been mentioning in previous bulletins, our Wednesday Eucharistic adoration started up again this past week and we will continue to do it every Wednesday as we are accustomed to.
Y-Disciple– We are hoping that the Y-Disciple groups will be able to meet. However, Theresa Conley is working with our groups to have a plan in place in case that is not possible. On a related note, we are looking for a man to help facilitate our Paulding boys Y-Disciple group and one or two men to help facilitate our Antwerp boys Y-disciple group. If you are interested, please contact Theresa at the parish office.
School– We received word that we will be blessed to finally have our students back in the school building for the upcoming academic year. However, we are still working out a plan for how to make this work. Of course, we always want what is safe for our students, families, teachers and staff. We will be providing more updates soon.
That is all I can think of for now. Blessings to you all!
