Dear parishioners,
Now that the school year has begun, we will be getting back into the rhythm of our ordinary parish activities. In some sense, I feel that I am still learning what all of this entails, because most of last year’s regularly scheduled activities did not happen like they usually do. So, please be patient with me as I continue to grow accustomed to what we do as a parish in a “normal” year.
One piece of getting back into our ordinary parish activities entails restarting our choirs. Currently, our choirs are on track to begin rehearsing like we have in the past, and singing for Masses once again. I have heard from many how much they appreciate being in or listening to them; now, I look forward to hearing them for the first time! As always, the invitation to join our choirs is open to all; if interested, please contact Jessica Schuster or the parish office.
Another item worth mentioning is that our Melchizedek Project group will meeting once again in the Paulding church basement every second Sunday after the 10:30 Mass. The group is open to any high school age boys, or slightly older. Each meeting begins with prayer at 12:00, is then followed by lunch (provided), and then a casual discussion about knowing one’s vocation in general and specifically how to know if a man is being called to be a priest. Of course, coming to these gatherings does not require any level of commitment to becoming a priest. Rather, the discussions are aimed to help the participants to ask the questions about priesthood that any young Catholic guy should ask: What does the life of a priest entail? How do you know if the Lord is asking you to be a priest? The first gathering will be Sunday, September 12. There is no cost to attend.
As we move forward, I will continue to provide updates. Have a blessed week!
