Bulletin Letter – 8/7/22

Dear parishioners,

I would like to re-invite everyone to “Behold: A Concert of Sacred Music,” happening next Sunday, August 14 at 1:00 in the Paulding church.   Please come to hear Jessica Schuster and her extremely talented young adult choir, comprised of young adults from northwest Ohio and from Indiana.  Jessica founded the choir five years ago in July 2017, with their first event, “Sacred Music Unveiled,” taking place right here at Divine Mercy.  They are excited to come back to our parish to celebrate their five-year anniversary, and as a way to show their gratitude for being able to do their rehearsals and retreats at our facilities.  Please plan to come and please invite anyone at all who might be interested.  This concert is free and open to the public.

All are invited to an event entitled “An Evening of Remembrance” on Friday August 26.  This event will be a Mass celebrated by Bishop Thomas for any mother, father or family member who has lost a child to miscarriage, still birth or abortion.  The Mass will begin at 6:00 P.M. at St. Michael Parish in Findlay (750 Bright Rd., Findlay, Ohio 45840), with confessions beginning at 5:00 and a memorial procession with flowers at 5:30.  Refreshments will be provided after Mass.  The evening is hosted by Catholic Charities Project Rachel, Saint Joseph Ministries, and the St. Michael Respect Life Committee.  For more event information, contact Kerstin Pakka, Project Rachel Coordinator, at (419) 260-5811 or email kpakka@toledodiocese.org.

As I mentioned in a previous bulletin article, every year, Bishop Thomas celebrates a Mass to honor couples throughout the diocese who are celebrating milestone wedding anniversaries.  So, I would like to remind everyone that if this year marks your 25th, 40th, 50th, 60th or 60th-plus wedding anniversary, you are warmly invited to attend Mass with Bishop Thomas at Rosary Cathedral in Toledo on Sunday, October 9 at 3:00 P.M.  You can register for the event directly through the diocese’s website (https://toledodiocese.org/diocesan/mass-on-the-anniversaries-of-marriage), or you can contact the parish office and we can facilitate your registration.

Wednesday, August 17, marks the first day of school for Divine Mercy.  This means, of course, that at that time, we will jump back into our regular weekday Mass schedule, with school Masses happening every Thursday at 9:15.  If any particular school Mass gets cancelled or rescheduled, we will be sure to let you know in advance.  All are certainly welcome to attend the school Masses.  If you do, you will not only receive the obvious benefits from being at the Holy Sacrifice and receiving the Eucharist, but you will also get to hear our students, who sing wonderfully for the Lord!  Please pray for our faculty, staff, and students, that we might grow in numbers, as well as in our knowledge and love of Christ.

Blessings to you all!

Fr. Ammanniti
