Advent began on December 3rd. Here are a list of our upcoming Advent and Christmas events at Divine Mercy Parish.
Immaculate Conception Masses:
Thursday, Dec 7, 7 pm in Paulding
Friday, Dec 8, noon in Paulding at 2 pm in Payne
Day of Grace Advent Confessions
Wednesday, December 13 in Paulding
Confessions from 8:30 – 10am, noon to 2pm, and 5 to 8 pm
(PSR students will be going to confession from 6:30 – 8pm)
Wednesday, December 20 in Payne
Confessions from 8:30 – 10am, noon to 2pm, and 5 to 8 pm
Catholic School Christmas Program and Cookie Walk
The Christmas program at the Catholic School will be held on Thursday, Dec 14 at 1:30 pm and again at 7 pm.
There will be a cookie walk before the evening performance from 6 – 7pm.
Bambinelli Sunday
The 3rd Sunday of Advent is the weekend of December 16 – 17. Parishioners are invited to bring their Baby Jesus figurines to Mass for a special blessing.
Christmas Masses
Please note: Christmas falls on a Monday this year. This means that all are obligated to go to one Mass for the 4th Sunday of Advent and another Mass for the celebration of the Nativity of Lord (Christmas). Considering that the vigil Masses for the Nativity of the Lord are on Sunday evening, and that priests are permitted to celebrate only three Masses on a Sunday or Holy Day, we had to adjust the regular Sunday morning Mass schedule. So, please note well that there will only be two Masses offered for the 4th Sunday of Advent: Saturday, December 23 at 4:00 in Payne, and Sunday, December 24 at 9:30 a.m. in Paulding.
