The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults – more commonly known as RCIA or OCIA – is a process of spiritual and educational formation for adults who wish to learn more about the Catholic Faith and possibly become full members of the Roman Catholic Church. It includes several stages marked by study, prayer, and rites which occur at Mass.
Join us on for our first class Tuesday, September 10 at 7pm at the Educational Center in Paulding (417 N Main St). Get your questions answered and meet with other people who are interested in Jesus and the Catholic Church. This is just a friendly, casual class, and there is no commitment for those attending these sessions. Anyone may discontinue the program at any time.
RCIA / OCIA might be for you if . . .
- you’ve never been baptized but realize the need for God in your life
- you’ve been baptized in another Christian church but want to learn about the Catholic Tradition
- you were baptized in the Catholic Church but never received the Sacraments of Eucharist or Confirmation and you wish to become a full participant in the life of the Church
- you are married to a Catholic and attend Mass but you aren’t sure what your next step should be to be able to participate more fully
- you’ve ever asked yourself “why do Catholics do that” or “what do Catholics believe about this?”
- You are a Catholic who has been away from the church and you want to learn more about the faith as you come back
