July 19-20, 2025
Dear parishioners,
Thank you to all those who worked to make our parish picnic a great event last Sunday! There were many volunteers who helped set-up, run, and clean-up the event, which allowed everything to run very smoothly. Thanks also to everyone who made a dish, and everyone otherwise that attended!
Next, don’t forget that our Vacation Bible School is this week. As we have advertised in the bulletin, this year’s Bible School will be at Divine Mercy School as this will provide more space and air-conditioned buildings. It’s not too late to volunteer to help with this program if you would like. However, please contact us as soon as possible since it begins tomorrow (Monday)!
I would also like to remind everyone of an opportunity to support the students of Divine Mercy School. In 2021, House Bill 110 established a program that allows Ohio taxpayers to receive a 100% tax credit against Ohio income tax liability for contributions made to a certified Scholarship Granting Organization. The maximum credit amount is $750, or $1,500 if married and filing jointly. The Ohio Tax Credit Scholarship initiative is subject to the rules and directives of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office and is subject to change.
The Diocese of Toledo Scholarship Fund is a Scholarship Granting Organization registered with the State of Ohio’s Attorney General’s Office. DOTSF is a registered non-profit 501(c)3 organization that collects funds to assist students in grades K-12 to attend Catholic schools within the Diocese of Toledo.
This means that donations made to the Diocese of Toledo SGO will directly benefit our school by granting tuition scholarships to our students. To make donations to the SGO, or to get further information, go to https://www.dotsgo.org/about-4. Please keep in mind that when making a donation, it is possible to designate to which Catholic school in our diocese you would like your money to be applied. So, when you designate Divine Mercy School, your donation can only be applied to a student at our school. Further, it is worth noting that 100% of each donation will go to the designated school.
After money is donated to the SGO, families in our school must complete a very short and very simple application to request a scholarship from this fund. So, if any of your family or friends have students in our school, please encourage them to complete this application at the same website listed above: https://www.dotsgo.org/about-4. Please encourage them to apply even if they have been approved for Ed Choice scholarships; because the Ed Choice Scholarships do not cover the full cost to educate each of our students, the SGO scholarships can still be applied to students who have received the Ed Choice scholarships. If you have any questions, or would like more information, feel free to contact us at the parish office.
Blessings,
Fr. Ammanniti
