Vocations Focus in November

Divine Mercy Parish is focusing on Religious Vocations in the month of November.

The first week of November is traditionally Vocations Awareness week in the United States.

One way that we work to promote Vocations in the Diocese of Toledo is to host Andrew Dinners in each area. These dinners are named after St. Andrew who called others to follow Christ. It is an opportunity for young men of high school and college age to learn more about the priesthood. If you know a young man who you think would make a good priest, please invite them to talk to Fr. Ammanniti!

Every time there is a 5th Sunday in a month, we use that Sunday to pray for Vocations at our parish. November has a 5th Sunday this year, so November 29 and 30 will be our Vocations Weekend.

That weekend, our 2nd collection will go to support seminarians from our diocese. We will also have Eucharistic Adoration following each of our weekend Masses as an opportunity to pray for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life.

Jesus said to his disciples, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.” – Matthew 9: 37-38

Bishop Thomas has encouraged all Catholics in the Diocese of Toledo to pray a Hail Mary every day for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Let us use the month of November to add this to our daily prayer!
