December 14-15, 2024
Dear parishioners,
As you are aware, until now delays or cancelations to our Wednesday adoration have been dependent on whether or not Paulding Schools were delayed or cancelled. Now that Paulding Schools are on a delay schedule every Wednesday, we have adopted a new policy to determine when our Wednesday adoration is delayed or cancelled. Starting immediately, if Antwerp or Wayne Trace Schools is delayed on a Wednesday, then adoration that day will also be delayed, and therefore begin at noon. Likewise, if any one of the three schools in Paulding County is cancelled on a Wednesday, then adoration will be cancelled as well. We hope this arrangement will prevent confusion in the future. Let us know if you have any questions.
Many thanks to everyone who made a donation to the Thanksgiving Day collection. As announced, this collection will be donated to support the local food pantries. The collection itself brought in $806.50. Using money from our Mission Fund, we will be supplementing an additional $193.50, to bring the total to an even $1000. This means, of course, that $500 will be donated to the Caring and Sharing food Pantry in Paulding and $500 will be donated the food pantry run through Antwerp United Methodist Church.
Please consider coming to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation this Wednesday, December 18, during our Day of Grace in Payne. I will be hearing confessions after the morning Mass that day from 8:30-10:00, 12:00-2:00, and 5:00-8:00. Additionally, our normal Wednesday adoration will be happening in Payne that day instead of in Paulding.
Christmas Mass schedule:
Dec. 24: 4:00 p.m. in Payne
10:00 p.m. in Paulding
Dec. 25: 9:00am in Paulding
Please consider joining for our annual rectory open house on Sunday, December 29! All are invited to attend! The party will begin at 12:00 that day. Kindly note that, because that is also the fifth Sunday of the month, we will also be doing our adoration for vocations after each of the Masses that weekend. So, adoration after the 10:30 Mass will conclude around 11:50, and then everyone is welcome to stop over to the rectory afterward for food and drinks. Of course, please feel free to come directly to the rectory around noon if you are not attending the 10:30 Mass. As mentioned, it is an open house, so please feel free to come and go as you please!
Lastly, I would like to remind everyone that January 1 is the Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God, and is a Holy Day of Obligation. Mass will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m. in Payne on December 31, and at 10:00 a.m. in Paulding on January 1.
Blessings,
Fr. Ammanniti
