Bulletin Letter – 9/1/24

August 31- September 1, 2024

Dear parishioners,

Thanks to those who have inquired about the upcoming parking lot repaving in Paulding.  Yes, it is still planned to happen in the near future; however, we have not yet heard back from the contractor as to when exactly that will be taking place.  Because we were required to submit this project for approval at the diocesan level, and because that part of the process took longer than expected, we were not able to confirm with the contractor until their schedule was already pretty full.  I will be sure to provide an update once I have more information.  Thanks for your patience!

Our next adoration for vocations weekend will take place on the last weekend of this month: September 28-29.  We figured that this is fitting because that weekend will be the fifth Sunday of the month, and every fifth Sunday is the weekend we take up the second collection for the seminarians.  In fact, moving forward, we will plan on having future adoration for vocation weekends on the fifth Sundays because that will be easier for us to schedule around choir practices and other events, as well as continue to keep us on a quarterly schedule.  Thank you to all who continue to support our seminarians through prayer and through our second collection!

Speaking of seminarians and priests, some parishioners have mentioned that they appreciate the “Pray for Priests” calendar that the Diocese of Toledo provides for bulletins.  You may have noticed that we have not included that in the bulletin for a couple of months.  As a note of explanation for this, the calendars themselves are created by a group of priests’ parents and are then forwarded to the diocese.  Then, the diocese includes them in the regular communications so that they can be included in bulletins.  However, the diocese has not received any of these calendars for a couple of months, so it has not been possible for us to do this recently.  To those who like to use those calendars, thanks for your patience!

Blessings,

Fr. Ammanniti
